Hostmonster Vs. Godaddy Web Hosting

HostMonster Vs. Godaddy

So you’ve decided you need a website and now you need to find the right web hosting company to host it. You’ve probably already heard of some of the larger web hosting companies but have finally narrowed it down to either Hostmonster or Godaddy. Both HostMonster and Godaddy are well known and well respected web hosting companies. But which one is better?

Hostmonster is typically a better web hosting company than GoDaddy in terms of quality and speed. Godaddy usually has limited features, but does boast a slightly better price. None the less, both companies often serve their hosting plans around the same price so price is usually not an issue. Historically, Hostmonster provides better customer support, faster servers, and a huge variety of features. For full details on hostmonster, visit our hostmonster full review.

GoDaddy is probably one of the most popular web hosting & domain name companies in the world. They often make it very convenient to order your web hosting and domain name at the same time. However lack of speed, website building features, and limited bandwidth and disk space, reduce its chances of competing with Hostmonster as a worthy advisory.

In conclusion, while GoDaddy is continuing to improve their web hosting features with upgraded servers and 4GH hosting plans, HostMonster has a reputation of being a better quality web host. Godaddy does offer excellent prices on domains and is one of the top domain registrars in the world. It is often a good idea to buy your domain names through GoDaddy, yet host your website through Hostmonster.

What web host should I use?

I plan to start working on a website soon to display my artwork, since I have had several clients ask me why I don’t have one! I will also be buying a domain name. Can anyone recommend a good web host that makes things easy to set up and maintain for a complete novice like myself? I have heard of GoDaddy and HostMonster, but am wondering if there are others that are just as good. Just something simple, elegant, and basic that I can maintain.

Should I use Godaddy Web Hosting for my website?

Scenario: I have an informational website that displays information about a few products that I am selling. I need to sign up with a web hosting plan and was wondering if Godaddy is a good web host? I want a good reliable web hosting company, but one that is also fairly cheap. Please advise.

Solution: GoDaddy is a very well known web hosting company.  While they do offer great sales on domains, there are better web hosts out there than GoDaddy. The GoDaddy basic web hosting plan might be suitable for you if you are expecting to receive very little traffic, as GoDaddy holds a limit on the amount of traffic you can receive. We would recommend for anyone to get a web hosting plan that at the very least, offers unlimited bandwidth and disk space. You would be better off to purchase a plan from HostMonster. You can  sign up with HostMonster here to receive an affordable hosting plan that offers unlimited disk space and bandwidth.

Which web hosting to use? GoDaddy vs Hostmonster?

Scenario: I have a website that I need new web hosting for. I run a small business. I probably get about 200 visitors a day, browsing and buying items on my website. I’m thinking of either getting Godaddy or Hostmonster as a web host. Which one is better?

Solution: Read our reviews on our home page. We feel that HostMonster is a much better web hosting company. Godaddy is great for buying domains, but we would recommend HostMonster instead of Godaddy for the web hosting. For your situation, we would recommend buying a domain name through GoDaddy and buy the web hosting plan through HostMonster. You can sign up with HostMonster here.

What is the best GoDaddy Alternative?

What are some alternatives to Godaddy? I need an alternative that offer wordpress web hosting like Godaddy does with an auto script installer. I also need a place to register domain names and maybe have the alternative website style the same as godaddy but with a easier navigation. Is there any other web hosting company like godaddy?

Godaddy’s 4GH Web Hosting

GoDaddy 4gh Web Hosting

What is GoDaddy 4GH?

GoDaddy’s 4gh (Fourth Generation Hosting) is just a new term GoDaddy likes to use for their web hosting packages. Essentially, it is nothing but a much needed update for GoDaddy which now gives GoDaddy the ability to manage traffic spikes for their web hosting. Before, if your hosting account was receiving too much traffic and was putting a strain on GoDaddy’s servers, they would shut your hosting account down. This means that your website would just suddenly stop working. Now, thanks to 4GH, it basically allocates more resources to the server to help keep your site live. However, note that GoDaddy continues to only allow a limited amount of viewers, so if your website still receives too much traffic, GoDaddy will block viewers from visiting your site to reduce server strain.

What 4GH means?

4GH gives you the shared use of many servers. Your data is essentially being pooled and can allocate the strength of multiple servers to gather data to your visitors. A pooled network system has a high reliability rate of 99.9% which helps boost server reliability. The good thing is that if one server stops responding or goes down, the others will continue to work, so your website never goes down and continues to run.
So to the average user, what are the basic differences between GoDaddy’s old shared hosting and their new 4GH? Well the basic differences are improved performance. Essentially, the 4GH hosting plan is more faster, more reliable, and allows for your website to use more server resources (meaning it can obtain more site traffic before shutting down).

Disadvantages of GoDaddy’s 4GH:

There are a few downsides to 4GH. It cannot use Microsoft Access databases, Front Page Server Extensions, Java and Coldfusion, and streaming videos. The last few options are pretty important. Since a decent number of websites need Java, coldfusion, or streaming videos, GoDaddy’s 4GH plan might not be right for these users. Note that GoDaddy 4GH also does not offer the industry standard cPanel control panel. GoDaddy offers their own control panel with only the basic functions.

Is GoDaddy 4GH BETTER than other web hosts?

No. In fact, most web hosting companies have a similar feature. They just call it something different. While GoDaddy 4GH is a significant upgrade from their previous hosting packages, other web hosting companies, like HostMonster & HostGator, continue to provide higher performance web hosting. Web Hosting Question – Is GoDaddy very expensive?

I have 17 domain names registered with  Godaddy and they take $3.99 for each domain name per month. So, I pay them $67.83 monthly. I’ve just read on forums that there are Unlimited Domain name Hosting opportunities (when you pay only for one hosting account (about $7-10) and are able to upload a lot of URL sites on that hosting account. What web host should I use to get this lower price? What would be my best option?
